Lighting Options
Choptank Electric's lighting service is available to residential
single family homes, condominiums, townhouses, homeowners' associations,
farms, public organizations and commercial establishments.
Lighting fixtures, poles, maintenance and energy are provided for a
fixed monthly fee, with a minimum of three lights, on a minimum
five-year contract.
You may choose to have Choptank install and maintain the lights or
you may purchase your lights and have them installed by a private
contractors. There is an additional charge to bring power to the light
if it is not available at the light location.
Lighting Styles and Pricing
Open Vertical
- General area lighting, 25-30 ft. mounting height
- Wattage: 100 HPS (high pressure sodium) Lumen: 9500
- Monthly charge: $13.66
- With 30-ft. wood pole: add $3.10/month
Cobra Head
- Roadway and parking lot lighting; 25-35 ft. mounting height
- Wattage: 100 HPS, Lumen: 9500, Monthly charge: $20.20
- Wattage: 250 HPS, Lumen: 23,000, Monthly charge: $25.36
- Wattage: 400 HPS, Lumen: 42,000, Monthly charge: $29.71
- With 30-foot gray fiberglass Class D pole, add $5.21/month
- With 30-foot wood pole, add $3.10/month
Acorn
- Decorative lighting; Walkway, Residential street, Driveway, Area
- 13 ft. mounting height
- Wattage: 100 HPS, Lumen: 9500
- Monthly charge: $18.50
Colonial
- Decorative lighting; Residential
- 13 ft. mounting height
- Wattage: 100 HPS, Lumen: 9500
- Monthly charge: $16.79
