Co-op Connections® for Businesses FAQsAs a business, how do I join? On this Web site you can download all the participant information: letter, brochure and contract. If you would like this material mailed to you instead, you may e-mail us at coopconnections@choptankelectric.coop. Upon returning your completed contract, a Choptank Electric representative will contact you to confirm your offer and participation. Can only Choptank Electric Cooperative members participate in the program? No, the business does not have to be a Choptank Electric Cooperative member to participate; however, only Choptank Electric members will receive the Co-op Connections Card. What does it cost the business to participate? There is no cost, except for whatever the discount or service the business offers. Businesses should view the Co-op Connections® Card program as a promotional effort or as a complement to their on-going advertising campaigns. How will the public know the business is participating in the program? Four ways: A listing on www.choptankelectric.coop, a window decal and register sticker at the business location, and a listing on the national Web site directory www.connections.coop (the cooperative web site will point our members directly to this link, as well), and, as businesses sign up for the program their business will be listed in the monthly cooperative newsletter Live Wire which is mailed to the membership. As a participating business, what is my commitment? Participating businesses commit to a discount offer or service with a one-year contract. At the end of the contract, a business may choose to renew the existing discount offer, change the discount offer, or opt out of the program with a 30-day written notice. How will Choptank Electric promote participating businesses? A business description and discount information will appear on www.choptankelectric.coop. In addition, your listing on the national Web site directory, www.connections.coop, is searchable by cooperative name, by business category and by state. Choptank Electric Cooperative may also do periodic promotions of the Co-op Connections program. Again, the www.connections.coop link will also be connected to the cooperative Web site.
