About Us

Choptank Electric, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, is a member-owned electric utility with headquarters in Denton, Maryland. It serves over 52,000 residential, commercial and industrial accounts in parts of all nine counties of Maryland's Eastern Shore.

More than 690 Touchstone Energy cooperatives in 44 states are delivering energy and energy solutions to more than 16 million customers every day. Chartered in 1938, Choptank's first 78 miles of line were energized in Caroline County in December of 1939.
